Training and Exercises

Business Continuity and Crisis Awareness Training

Training sessions offer the opportunity to work through the guides so that all employees are familiar with the purpose of the guides and how to use them. In a typical session, select one or more guides for discussion and review. Plan each training session to be 30 to 60 minutes.

Methods

  • Training sessions are used to review, discuss, and familiarize employees on the Emergency Response Guides
  • Tabletop exercises use a scripted timeline to present a scenario for participants to work though together
  • Functional exercises use a scenario for practical application, including performing actual functions, in real time, with others.
  • Drills can be used to 1) provide training on new equipment, 2) test new policies or procedures, and 3) practice and maintain skills.

Materials
