Each year, Workforce Solutions staff handles over 6,000 job orders and helps over 2,000 employers find qualified workers. The staff recruits, screens and refers only those individuals who meet employer-specified requirements. Employers willing to hire, train and retain workers from special population groups may qualify for tax credits and other financial incentives.
Workforce Solutions staff have close relationships with our region’s community colleges, and can work with those institutions to develop and fund specialized training that companies may need when expanding. They can also help employers that are reducing personnel by providing outplacement and retraining services, access to alternative resources that may make it possible to reduce the size of a lay-off, and assistance with filing a petition for trade assistance, if appropriate.
Finally, information on the economy, labor market and employment law is available to employers through Workforce Solutions staff.
