The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates for residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, ensuring they receive respectful and competent care. Ombudsmen work directly with residents to address concerns, educate them on their rights, and help resolve complaints.

The Medicare Benefits Counseling program offers personalized, unbiased guidance to Medicare beneficiaries, helping them understand their coverage options and make informed decisions about their healthcare. Our Certified Benefits Counselors assist with Medicare plan comparisons, low-income assistance programs, and preventing Medicare fraud and abuse.

In addition to Medicare guidance, our counselors provide support with preparing Advance Directives such as a Medical Power of Attorney, Directive to Physicians, and Out-of-Hospital DNR to help individuals plan for future healthcare needs.

The Nutrition Program provides Congregate and Home Delivered Meals to reduce hunger, improve health, and promote socialization among older adults. Congregate Meals are served in group settings at local senior centers and select senior housing complexes, offering opportunities for connection and community. Home Delivered Meals are provided mid-day through partnerships with local senior centers and other organizations, helping individuals maintain access to nutritious meals at home.

The Transportation Program provides older adults in Amarillo with accessible and reliable transportation assistance. Operated by Amarillo City Transit, the program offers a number of free rides to eligible individuals for trips within the Amarillo City Transit service area.
