The Panhandle Environmental Partnership (PEP) is a lose-knit association of Panhandle communities that banded together back in 1999 to promote cost-effectively recycling and waste reduction opportunities in the region. The PEP’s primary focus area has been in developing and maintaining profitable end-market outlets for the recyclable materials being processed by PEP members.
Having reliable access to profitable markets has been the key ingredient to maintaining the solvency of each PEP member’s recycling program and has provided the opportunities for other waste reduction initiatives in the region.
